This 2 day course is open to anyone who carries out investigations and uses digital SLR cameras in order to gather record evidence.

What Students can expect

Many investigators often fall into the trap of obtaining photographic images which are of poor quality and of little evidential value. Due to many reasons, poor photographic images arise by: unfamiliarity of the equipment, incorrect exposure, blurring from camera shake, out of focus and many other factors.

This photographic training will give the surveillance operator the confidence to operate a digital SLR cameras under challenging conditions.

Course Content

This two day ‘hands on’ course is suitable for the non technical person who wishes to learn and improve their photographic technique. The training will teach you:

  • Basic principles of still photography (exposure, speed, apertures, focal length)
  • Understanding digital cameras
  • Basic photographic skills
  • Advanced photographic skills in relation to surveillance (low light, telephoto lenses)
  • Practical Photographic Exercises
  • Transfer of digital images to computer or CD
  • Manipulation and processing of digital images using for printing and emailing
  • Continuity of evidence
