The Richard Jacques-Turner Award for Excellence was this year presented by WAD president Wes Bearden.
Originally introduced by W.A.D. during the ABI Centenary celebrations in 2013, this award recognises an individual who has achieved a significant accolade within the investigation, security, or educational sectors. It is themed around international recognition of excellence and achievement.
The winner of the Richard Jacques Turner International Award for Excellence 2025 is Andreas Helm a highly respected figure in the German investigative sector, known for his leadership, training initiatives, and efforts in good practice standardisation.
In 2007, his focus turned to the work of the IKD, an international umbrella organisation that brings together professional investigator associations from across the European Economic Area and beyond. His dedication and contributions have been instrumental in shaping and advancing industry standards.
Last year’s award winner, George Hirtl, had this to say about him:
"Andreas has proven to be a think tank for every project he is involved in, always striving to analyse current conditions with a view to improving, advancing, and harmonising the profession."
