This workshop is based on the requirements of the ABI UK GDPR Code of Conduct for investigative and litigation support services, approved by the ICO; click here.
The ABI UK GDPR Code of Conduct offers three key opportunities, each with unique advantages:
1. A best practice guide, endorsed by the ICO, granting the ABI an exceptional level of accreditation.
2. A voluntary membership scheme for professional investigators, allowing them to showcase their adherence to the code to clients.
3. This specialised workshop focused on improving understanding and compliance with the best practice guide, applicable regardless of whether participation in the code scheme is considered.
Cost:
£130.00 (inc.) ABI members
£190.00 (inc.) non-members
Pending applicants: Ticket included in ABI membership application fee
The workshop concludes with a 30-minute assessment and debrief on the results. The assessment is set at a level achievable by the attendees.
UK GDPR & THE ABI CODE OF CONDUCT
Provisions in the UK GDPR have a direct bearing on the work of investigators. It is not a simple regulation to comprehend. Due to a lack of understanding of what is necessary to be compliant and a lot of misinformation, the privacy law brings hazards to the sector.
Since prevention is always preferable, the sector-specific and comprehensive Code of Conduct was developed.
